The Seventh Annual Tom Tom Founders Festival is a week-long celebration of innovators, visionaries, and artists who are shaping small cities. The Festival occurs at dozens of venues throughout downtown Charlottesville.
My professional interests and passions are around community building; with a specific focus on my hometown of Charlottesville, VA. I love the instigators, entrepreneurs, artists, activists, and healers who are filled with civic purpose and desire to create communities of friendship and collaboration. Can we build trust across our differences and dream big about the future? Also, can we have fun while we do it?
My primary role is as the founder of the Tom Tom Foundation and Tom Tom Festival, which annually brings together 20,000+ engaged citizens to envision a brighter tomorrow for Charlottesville. My community gathering work has now extended over a decade and has spanned festivals, dance parties, raves, dinner series, meditations, men's groups, conferences, seminars, and concerts.
After graduating from NYU, I returned to my hometown in 2006. I've been involved in a number of civic and entrepreneurial pursuits that help elevate the region, and foster communities of friendship and collaboration. He has been widely active in organizations such as the Chamber of Commerce, Charlottesville Economic Development Authority, Affordable Housing Commission, and the creation of a regional Cultural Plan.
