Mike is a machine learning strategist in the Center for Machine Learning (C4ML) at Capital One and is responsible for developing and implementing the strategy for machine learning consulting projects across all business units.

Mike has patents pending related to using blockchain for reward systems, reinforcement learning and modeling and predicting habits using sensor data.

Prior to joining Capital One, Mike was the chief strategy officer of Notch, a boutique agency that specialized in data engineering, custom software development, machine learning, and related strategy and tactics (Notch was acquired by Capital One). He was also the co-founder and chief operating officer of Fuzzy Logix, where he helped raise $5.5M in funding, grow revenue to $4.7M in 4 years, deliver solutions that produced 300% to 3,200% return on investment and develop strategic partnerships with Fortune 100 companies who resell or embed Fuzzy Logix analytics into their products. Before Notch, Mike worked on Bank of America’s enterprise credit risk innovation team where he built new commercial and consumer banking products and received his first patent. He also developed a strategic and operational plan for a mortgage and home equity group that resulted in growth from $11B to $22B in 4 years.

While fending off the need to sleep, Mike is an active dad, lover of extreme sports, and drummer.
