Silverchair 25th Anniversary Reception
You need this ticket from Eventbrite to sign up: Festival Pass - Free.
Silverchair is celebrating its Silver (25-year) Anniversary with a reception in their beautiful and historic downtown offices (formerly home of the Hardware Store). Community members are invited to join us for drinks and appetizers as we toast 25 years as a Charlottesville business.

Silverchair designs and builds websites to host scholarly content and creates specialized features and interfaces for interacting with that content. Founded in 1993, the company began as a packager for medical textbooks, changing shape over time and launching the Silverchair Platform in 2010 as a hosting solution for digital journals, books, multimedia, and more. Since its inception, Silverchair has worked with some of the most accomplished names in scholarly and professional information, spanning the worlds of commercial publishing, professional societies and associations, governmental agencies, and academic medical centers. In 2017, the Silverchair Platform hosted an average of over 150 million user sessions each month. Rooted in Charlottesville for 25 years, Silverchair stands apart from its Silicon-Valley-based competitors, and was honored in 2017 with the Charlottesville Business Innovation Council’s Business of the Year Award.

Founders Luncheon: An American Story
Limited Capacity seats available
You need this ticket from Eventbrite to sign up: Founders Luncheon: An American Story.
Pulitzer Prize winner Amy Goldstein has spent years immersed in Janesville, Wisconsin where the nation’s oldest operating General Motors plant shut down in the midst of the Great Recession, two days before Christmas of 2008. Now, with intelligence, sympathy, and insight into what connects and divides people in an era of economic upheaval, she makes one of America’s biggest political issues human. Her reporting takes the reader deep into the lives of autoworkers, educators, bankers, politicians, and job re-trainers to show why it’s so hard in the twenty-first century to recreate a healthy, prosperous working class.
