JC McCahill
MCC Program Officer - MCC-PEPFAR Partnership
Washington, DC
JC is the Program Officer supporting the Data Collaboratives for Local Impact. This program implemented as part of a partnership between PEPFAR and MCC, and is aligned with the USG effort to harness the data revolution for sustainable development, and the Global Data Partnership. One of the core investments under this program, the Tanzania Data Lab (dLab), is a center of activity in Dar es Salaam, where civil society, government, and citizens can learn data skills, combine and process datasets, and participate in activities aimed at improving the use of data for decision-making. More information is available on the dLab website here: dlab.or.tz.
Prior to MCC, JC served as Senior Project Officer for a USG-led project under the Emerging Pandemic Threats Program. In that role, he worked directly with government ministries and public health universities in east Africa and southeast Asia to develop information-sharing 'One Health Networks' to present the spread of avian flu, swine flu, and other newly emerging pandemic threats.
