Shuttle will pick up at the bus pull-off lane on Water Street on the west end of the Downtown Mall: past the ice rink, Omni entrance, and Federal Courthouse. Staff will be at the Whiskey Jar to spot and direct participants.

What does autonomous vehicle technology mean in the context of the city? Self-driving cars, trucks, buses, and bots may be closer than they appear. Are we ready? Join us as we try to understand the human impact and unintended consequences that might spring from this seismic technology.

Attendees will board a bus out to Crozet, VA to tour the Perrone Robotics site, a startup working on autonomous vehicles technology, housed on the former Barner Lumber site, which is on the cusp of redevelopment into a mixed use town center. After the tour, attendees will get back on the bus to Pro Re Nata, a farm brewery, to enjoy local brews, mountain views, and an expert panel from the “shipping container” bar.

3:30pm - Board Shuttle
4:00pm - Tour Perrone Robotics & Barnes Lumber site
4:45pm - Board shuttle for brewery
5:00pm - Panel
6:00pm - Networking with drinks and food, from onsite food truck
